Thank you for volunteering to participate in the beta testing of the Fire Subpart of the new 1910.156 SC State OSHA Plan for Firefighters. You were selected based on your of prior work or subject matter expertise; in perfecting and helping in developing this regulation. This process is vital, and as such; your participation is vital. Full disclosure of what is expected and required are outlined below.
To participate in this review, you will need access to a computer and the internet. To gain better participation from the fire service, travel is minimized but online participation is required.
You will be expected to complete all 4 parts in this OSHA review process within a short time period after the process begins. The steps are:
- Watch an approximately 30 explainer minute video.
- Read, take notes, think on the ramifications, and discuss a 15 page document.
- Participate in one of four scheduled virtual meetings. (Registration is required).
- Complete an online question and comment form/process to offer final comments. This online link will be shared with the individuals after the completion of the first three steps.
Each of these steps will be important and it is expected the entire work time for the process is at minimum 8 hours.
Agreeing to and participating in this process ensures that the state’s fire service is offered the best OSHA regulation we possibly can have and have minimal problems during the adoption process. Your participation is appreciated greatly.
