FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER OR ENGINEER (EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic) Three New Positions Available • 3 Regular Full-time, Non-Exempt Vacancy (56 hrs. weekly) 48/96 Schedule • Firefighter Hiring Range: $43,036-$45,535 DUQ & Experience • Engineer Hiring Range: $45,819-$48,487 DUQ & Experience • EMT-Basic (min), Additional incentive for AEMT or Paramedic Are you looking to join a high-performing team of Fire and EMS professionals? The Glassy Mountain Fire Service Area located in the beautiful mountains of northern Greenville County is seeking three highly motivated candidates to fill full-time positions. These are SAFER grant positions which the department expects to retain at the conclusion of the grant period.
Successful firefighter candidates will possess Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (minimum) and have South Carolina Firefighter II certification. Engineer candidates must possess the firefighter qualifications plus Pump 1, Pump 2 (Mobile Water Supply) and have 10+ years of experience as a driver/operator. All candidates must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license and maintain a valid license during employment. EVOC/CEVO/Emergency Vehicle Driving Training preferred; must obtain within 1 year of employment. The applicant may be subject to pre-employment drug screen, and/or passing of a medical and/or psychological exam upon being offered employment. Firefighter and Engineer Candidates will be subject to a two-part exam process post interview, if selected for interview.
The exam process will consist of a (1) written examination on fire and emergency medical services knowledge, and (2) a practical examination containing firefighting skills. Both portions of the exam will be administered the same day.
