 Fire Service Team:
If you have not completed your Census information, then Governor McMaster, Lieutenant Governor Evette, and I encourage you to do so today. It will only take about 10 minutes of your time to complete online.
Your participation is vital. South Carolina currently ranks 44th in the nation for self-response to the Census. At present, only 58% of our residents have responded, which is 7% below the 2010 response.
It is critical that we have an accurate count of our residents because that count will impact South Carolina for the next 10 years. The count drives funding for our schools, roads, internet access, healthcare, and hundreds of community programs. Census data also is used for economic development and determines representation. While SC is not projected to gain or lose a House seat at this point in time, the best way to protect our representation and to ensure it reflects our population is to have a complete count of all SC residents.
Please help us show how powerful we all are together by being counted. Feel free to forward this email to your employees, your co-workers, and your family and friends to help us get the word out to everyone.
To complete the Census, go to www.my2020census.gov, call 844-330-2020 for English or 844-468-2020 for Spanish, or fill out and return the paper form sent to you by mail.
Thank you for all you do for the State of South Carolina.
