Spotlighting our South Carolina Fire-Rescue Speakers: Captain Kevin Manhardt

Last week, we spotlighted Chief Ryan Kunitzer of St. John’s Fire District and a first-time Fire Rescue Speaker. Today, we are delighted to introduce another dedicated Fire-Rescue Speaker: Captain Kevin Manhardt from Horry County, South Carolina.

Captain Manhardt, a passionate leader with Horry County Fire Rescue, is dedicated to enhancing the fire service. He specializes in instructing on strategies and tactics for multi-family fire operations, marine rescue, and a wide range of fire ground rescues. He has spoken at three Fire-Rescue Conferences, and he aims to use his knowledge and experience to inspire future firefighters.

“[I] [want] [to] reach out and help develop the next generation of firefighters in our state and just overall educate to make everybody in the Palmetto state better so we can serve our [communities],” he said. 

Captain Manhardt hopes that attendees will leave his classes with an improved understanding of basic firefighting skills and a stronger grasp of critical concepts.

“[I] [hope] [they] [gain] a strong understanding of the basics of firefighting and a deeper insight and knowledge [of] the particular topics to better serve the community, [and] master their craft,” he said.
